Issaquah Highlands and Talus homes usually come pre-wired with a structured panel — but builder wiring is often unterminated, unlabeled, or never connected to anything useful. We finish what the builder started: terminate the drops, install a proper switch and access points, and test every run.

Older homes in Olde Town and on Squak Mountain are the opposite job: careful retrofit wiring through finished walls. Either way, you end up with the same thing — a tested, wired network that outperforms any mesh kit — plus cameras and EV charging if you want them.

The Highlands and Talus were built as planned communities from the late 1990s onward, and many homes there came with a structured wiring panel. What's inside is often a bundle of unterminated or unlabeled cable. We trace and test every run, terminate them on a patch panel, add a switch and access points, and label everything so you know which jack is which. Olde Town has some of the older houses in the area, and homes on Squak Mountain and Cougar Mountain sit on steep lots with daylight basements and several levels. Those are retrofit jobs: finding a route from the basement to the attic, and planning access points so the level farthest from the modem still gets a wired connection.

The Highlands also has plenty of townhomes and condos. With no attic to drop from, new runs mean more cutting, and exterior camera mounts usually need HOA approval. Often the better plan is to make full use of the existing builder wiring before adding anything new.

In Washington, data cabling inside a home — single-family, duplex or multifamily — doesn't need a permit or an inspection. Electrical work does: EV chargers, new circuits and panel upgrades are permitted and inspected through the city or Washington L&I, whichever applies, and we handle that.
